Rescue Me ID: 16-08-13-00100Jericho (male)

Egyptian Mau Mix    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

Jericho is the kitten on the left in the photo. His sister, Jace, who is also listed on RescueMe is the kitten in the right. Jericho is predominantly white with some gray patches throughout his coat. Jericho and Jace were found under a foreclosure home with their mother, who appeared to be a purebred Egyptian Mau. An individual who was interested in the mother trapped Jericho instead of the mother and when he tried to remove Jericho from the trap and place him in a cardboard box so that he could continue to try to trap the mother, he lost him. I received a call from a Realtor asking me if I could try to retrap Jericho. After four days of ... (Read More)baiting traps, I was able to retrap Jericho. When I went to check the trap early on a Saturday morning, I found a panicked Jericho who had bloodied the bridge of his nose and cut above and below his right eye in his panic after being trapped. He was examined by a vet that same day, July 23rd, and she determined that he was approximately eleven weeks at that time. He was combo tested and was negative for both leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. He is scheduled to be neutered this coming Tuesday, August 16th and to receive his first vaccinations. This dear little man was initially very scared after fending for himself for four days. He was dependent on his sister, Jace, for the first week he lived at my office. He carefully watched her interact with my brother and myself and was careful to stay behind her when I placed their food and water in their habitat. He has quickly come around, and although still very bonded to his sister enjoys receiving pets and attention. Ideally, I would love for this pair to be adopted together as they are still dependent on each other having had their mom taken away before the finished nursing, but will adopt them separately. Jericho is a talker just like his sister and is quick to let you know when he needs food. Both of them are slightly built, although Jeriicho is bigger than Jace. If you are interested in becoming this dear little guy's human, please contact me. I do when possible like to receive a vet reference. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-13-00089Jace (female)

Egyptian Mau Mix    Age: Young Kitten

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Jace in the kitten on the right in the photo. Her brother Jericho is the kitten on the left, and he is also available for adoption. Jace and Jericho were found living under a foreclosure home with their mom, who appears to be a purebred Egyptian Mau. An individual was very interested in the mother, but did not want the kittens. When he trapped Jace instead of the mother, I received a call from the Realtor who had the home listed asking if I could take her and if I could try to rescue Jericho. Jace has been an absolute sweetheart since she was brought to me. She is now approximately fifteen weeks old according to the vet who examined ... (Read More)her when she was brought to me in July of this year. She loves to talk and has an adorable little kitten voice. She has been combo tested and is negative for both leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus. She will shortly be spayed and vaccinated. Her coat is a mix between a tortoiseshell and a pastel torti. She has beautiful orange stripping on her left front leg. Jace and Jericho are extremely bonded given that their mom was taken away while they were finishing nursing. It would be great for them to be adopted as a pair, but not an absolute necessity. They have enjoyed interacting with the other rescue kitties in my office and both seemed to need interaction with another cat. If you are interested in becoming Jace's human, please contact me. Please be advised that I do when possible like to receive a vet reference. (Less)
